Traceability requirements in the European biofuel chain keep increasing. With the Union Database for Biofuels (UDB), the EU is building a central register of sustainable fuel transactions. Auditors already check whether a company’s mass balance matches the proofs of sustainability it issues. A mass balance kept in spreadsheets makes that check harder than it needs to be.
The Mass Balance module links sustainability administration directly to the contracts, orders, and production data in Qbil-Trade. We developed it together with a biodiesel producer that processes used cooking oil and animal fats. That customer passed its first audit after going live, and the auditor responded positively to the system.
