Traceability requirements in the European biofuel chain keep increasing. With the Union Database for Biofuels (UDB), the EU is building a central register of sustainable fuel transactions. Auditors already check whether a company’s mass balance matches the proofs of sustainability it issues. A mass balance kept in spreadsheets makes that check harder than it needs to be.<\/p>

The Mass Balance module links sustainability administration directly to the contracts, orders, and production data in Qbil-Trade. We developed it together with a biodiesel producer that processes used cooking oil and animal fats. That customer passed its first audit after going live, and the auditor responded positively to the system.<\/p>
